Accessibility statement

A lot of our buyers are older, and plenty shop from a phone in a parking lot. Blue Ox Auto Sales builds this site to be readable and usable in both situations.

What we aim for

We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That's the standard we check ourselves against, and it's the standard we'd want to be held to.

What we've done

  • Body text and interface colors are checked for at least 4.5:1 contrast against their backgrounds. Our amber accent is used as a filled block with dark text on it, never as light-on-light text.
  • Prices, mileage, and specs are real text, not baked into images.
  • Vehicle photos carry alt text describing the vehicle and the view.
  • Forms use visible labels, describe errors in plain language, and say what to do to fix them.
  • The site works with a keyboard: the photo lightbox responds to arrow keys and Escape, and focus outlines are left visible.
  • Layout is mobile-first and reflows without horizontal scrolling when zoomed.

Known gaps

  • The map on the contact page is an embedded Google Map. We don't control its accessibility, so the full street address is printed as text next to it.
  • Alt text quality depends on us writing it well for each photo. If a listing has weak or missing alt text, tell us and we'll fix that listing.
  • Vehicle listings on third-party marketplaces are outside our control.

If the site gets in your way

Call us and we'll read you any listing, send photos however works for you, or take your information over the phone. Nothing on this site is the only way to do business with us.

If you hit a barrier, tell us what page you were on and what happened. We fix accessibility problems ahead of feature work.
